Dr. Bob Rabin recently retired from the NOAA National Severe Storms Lab in Norman OK where he served as a research meteorologist for 44 years. He currently works on weather satellite applications at the Space Science and Engineering Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is an adjunct faculty member in Environmental Science at the Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College in L’anse MI, and an adjunct instructor at Ilisaġvik College, Utqiaġvik, AK. Bob has been fascinated in observing the weather since an early age when he grew up near Lake Michigan. His research interests include satellite observations in weather forecasting and effects of land use on climate. He has served as science judge at AIHEC and AISES conferences, the BIA Water Resources Training Program, and the Native Youth Community Adaptation Leadership Congress. Bob has been engaged in learning the Iñupiaq language and is enrolled in the Iñupiaq Studies Program at Ilisaġvik College.
